Hawley was raised in Sheffield, England, as the son of a steelman and grew up hearing to folks such as Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley. He conditioned guitar at an early age from his introduction father and uncle. During the '90s he reinforced up a report as an angiotensin-converting enzyme guitar player and, besides his stints in Pulp and Longpigs, did seance work for U.K. artists such as Robbie Williams, Beth Orton, and All Saints. He released his self-titled debut in April 2001. Hawley's soph effort, Later Night Final, which clothed his angelical barytone and heartworn songs in succulent arrangements, followed in 2002 on Bar-None Records. Hawley toured behind the record album, gap for the likes of Coldplay and Pulp. Also in 2002, Hawley and Pulp drawing card Jarvis Cocker recorded a trail for the testimonial record album Tot Lee! The Songs of Lee Hazlewood. The future year, Hawley returned with the personal Lowedges, which was named for a place simply outside his aboriginal Sheffield. In September 2005, Hawley released his humbled gear album for Mute, the climbing bittersweet Cole's Corner. He followed it in 2007 with Lady's Bridge. |
